Memorial Day Parade

Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony is always the Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend. Set up is at 1 PM Indian Valley Middle School with step off at 2 PM. Ceremony will be held at Enon Cemetery. After ceremony everyone is invited to VFW 8437 for beverages and food.

Buddy Poppies

Buddy Poppy Program Today: VFW Buddy Poppies are still assembled by disabled and needy veterans in VA Hospitals. The VFW Buddy Poppy program provides compensation to the veterans who assemble the poppies, provides financial assistance in maintaining state and national veterans' rehabilitation and service programs.

VFW Ohio Charities

The Veterans of Foreign Wars of Ohio Charities was established in 2003 as a way for our VFW locations to have charity funds to assist needy veterans in their respective communities. http://www.vfwohiocharities.org

As yesterday's defenders of freedom, we want to welcome today's military service members into our ranks to become part of our elite group.  Our common bond is the battlefield, whether it is service in the Persian Gulf, Korea, Kosovo, the war on terrorism or peace-keeping expeditionary campaigns. Your courage and sacrifice have made a difference in preserving and defending world peace.

 1.  What is the 4th of July celebrated for?
Independence Day is annually celebrated on July 4 and is often known as "the Fourth of July". It is the anniversary of the publication of the declaration of independence from Great Britain in 1776. Patriotic displays and family events are organized throughout the United States.
2. What is Independence Day and why do we celebrate it?
Independence Day commemorates independence from British colonial rule. As a result, Independence Day celebrates the birth of a new nation. In India, Independence Day falls on August 15th every year.
